Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about SkyChart: Airline Executive.
What is SkyChart: Airline Executive?
SkyChart: Airline Executive is a deep, historically-driven airline management simulation that starts in 1930 and runs indefinitely past the present day. Built in Godot 4 by Casey Jones Labs, it features 528 cities across 7 world regions, 164 aircraft spanning the DC-3 through modern widebodies and into speculative supersonic, hydrogen, and electric designs that reach 2095, 60+ scripted historical events, and 35+ AI rival airlines with dynamic strategies.
Where can I play SkyChart?
The alpha build is available now on itch.io for $17.99. The game is also coming soon to Steam Early Access for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Is SkyChart similar to Aerobiz?
Yes. SkyChart is the spiritual successor to Aerobiz Supersonic (SNES, 1992) that fans have been waiting 30 years for. It captures the same addictive route-planning and airline empire-building gameplay, but with modern UI, deeper economic simulation, historically accurate aircraft, and full controller support.
Does SkyChart support controllers?
Yes. SkyChart has full controller support for Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch controllers. It includes a virtual cursor for map navigation, a radial menu (hold LB) for instant panel access, and is fully playable on Steam Deck.
Who is Casey Jones Labs?
Casey Jones Labs is an independent game studio with a passion for simulation and strategy. SkyChart: Airline Executive is our debut title. For inquiries, reach us at chris@caseyjoneslabs.com.
Is there multiplayer?
SkyChart is currently a single-player experience. You compete against 35+ AI rival airlines with dynamic pricing, fleet upgrades, and hub investment strategies. Multiplayer is something we may explore in the future based on community feedback.
Can I mod SkyChart?
Modding support is not available in the current alpha build. We are interested in exploring mod support in future updates, potentially allowing custom aircraft, cities, events, and scenarios. Join our Discord to share your ideas.
What engine is SkyChart built with?
SkyChart is built entirely in Godot 4 with GDScript 2.0. No C#, no C++ modules. Everything from the route economics engine to the tile map renderer is pure GDScript. The game uses threading for background calculations, a custom window manager, OSM-style map tiles, and great circle path rendering.
